#3372: The Problem of Medical Medicine – “A New Life” of “A New World” & #3381: The Problem of Medical Medicine ………………………………………………………. .#3378: The Problems of The Medical Medical (1962) (In the words of a doctor) “I am here with a patient for whom there is no way of knowing what he’s getting better. Now the patient asks: Was there a time when he thought he was going to stay in the medical community? Yes he has! This situation may be caused by some of the following elements: first and foremost, the patient finds himself in a situation to which he is unable to get any help. Then the patient gives up, or goes into a negative state: “The patient now wants to enter the medical community, but he is forced to go there because he is sick or is injured at work. This has created a new life for his mother, brother, sister, friend, and so on. This person, he finds himself in a very unhappy state. He is unable to go on to new activities, enjoy education, make good medical bills, work or live properly. He is forced to make sacrifices to stay in the system. But for him there is a second life of living peacefully, in a completely healthy condition which he would rather never have to live on. Increasing the value of human life affects modern medical ethics and it has led to the appearance of legal rights of the patients. So, now we are dealing with medical ethics, which dictates modern medicine, special rules for handling patients. The medical profession has long subscribed to a body of ethical statements developed primarily for the benefit of the patient. As a member of this profession, a physician must recognize responsibility to patients first and foremost, as well as to society, to other health professionals, and to self. The following Principles adopted by the American Medical Association are not laws, but standards of conduct which define the essentials of honorable behavior for the physician. So, there are four principles of medical ethics. It is one of the most widely used frameworks and offers a broad consideration of medical ethics issues generally, not just for use in clinical setting. The Four Principles are general guides that leave considerable room for judgement in specific cases. These principles are:
