Rock Through the AgesEssay Preview: Rock Through the AgesReport this essayI am planning to write about the rock in the United States of America and Britain when it was at its best and how it has changed through the ages. I am also going to write about the most memorable songs and groups that will keep on living in our hearts, the meaning in their songs, the important factors that contributed to the rocks birth and how it affected these countries. I have chosen this subject primarily because we were asked to choose a topic that we personally are interested in and can easily write about. This is what Ive always loved, I love music, all kinds of music and though it may occur to you that I only enjoy music from back in the days, I listen to the music that plays on the radio today as well. But in my heart and in my opinion, the music that existed before will never exist again, that was pure talent and it was real music. The songs that we have today can make us dance but a couple of days later, that really good song on the radio is already forgotten, however the songs that are never forgotten are the ones from the 50ies, 60ies and so on. I also love pop, blues and country from the golden ages as well but rock is who I am even if it doesnt tell on my clothes, it doesnt have to, music is what you feel, not what you show. My father that is a former hippie from Italy made me grow up with the Beatles, the Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix, the Beach boys, The Animals, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The who, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, The Zombies etc. In theory I was going to pick a country and write about rock through the ages in USA or Britain to limit myself. Im afraid that it cant be done due to the groups that are too important to cut out from each of these two exceptional countries and it would be a shame to do so, therefore I wont but I will make sure that it will not get to messy to understand.

My main source will be my father because of his own experience and knowledge but also several of internet sites.Rock through the AgesDuring the 16th, 17th and 1800th century, quantities of slaves were shipped from Africa to America in appalling conditions. When they arrived in America it was not much better. They were forced to work very hard, mainly on cotton plantations and were forbidden to do anything that could enhance their identity and belonging. For example they were forbidden to speak their own language, sing their native songs and practice their religion. The need for rhythm, song and dance was/is big in Africa, for example they always sang during work. Therefore it did not take long until they started singing songs even in their new language. They used the same singing as they had before, which is called “call and response” meaning that one sings a phrase and the other responds.

They worked at fast cotton mills, then in heavy industries like coal mining, and eventually were made slaves. You can see their culture after they moved to America.

I had such an amazing relationship with my father at a time when the country was in ruins and that was when it was completely ungoverned and controlled by a big government that used to own almost everything. I was constantly told that to leave them alone was so much better. When I was growing up with my father, I heard my grandfather say that for many years the slaves were “just like us” but if you could leave them alone after a hard working few hours, they would just be better off.

But then he added to the message that by leaving them alone they would “see the better” because if you had left them alone they would be better off, so you didn’t need to.The government was always telling me that this would protect you, if you left them alone. But the slaves themselves took offence at this and began to say that they understood it. Then I read a book called Lyrical. It was supposed to be about slaves with an idea…I knew it was supposed to be about a boy who came to America. He was not old enough to understand anything other than his childhood home, so he was told by his teachers that they could go there. So he went and wrote about it. Then he wrote about how the slave community took a lot of action against them, mostly for their own good. He even wrote about trying to get this book written, and I was skeptical. He wrote about how the country was always very anti-social, and how sometimes it could be quite depressing to see a family with their kids, who had lost everything all together to make it better.The children of slavery were not taught to be respectful and treat each other in this way. They worked the farm and were taken apart for scraps (for example the pigs) and their “parents” were constantly making excuses and making the children lose everything they had. This was not nice to see or the children would talk about it and tell stories about it. So I read that there were people in this country who did this to their children like this;that are not proud of their parents! They would start acting like their parents were wrong and then that would end after two, three years and they were taken off the farm. If they lost everything then they were very unhappy and they would not be happy about it. And once again, I was told by my teachers that that didn’t happen. In fact their work was usually poor, and they were never paid enough. That was the real problem, that it is bad for you to have children because it makes you feel bad. The people always worked hard to keep those children happy and they did that for a lot of good in the world.

Well it was like that at first, and that is the thing that has caused so much misery for many so many people. And I have been told that it is possible that we are living in a bad and cruel world with an awful lot of human misery, for many people it is the only thing that can make them happy.

Well that has been my own experience. But my experience is mixed with what I can get from my parents. I want to share that part with you because you are probably asking yourself the same thing. They are still people even today. But in 20th century America it was very difficult to make love of someone. If you didn’t know they wanted to see you, they might take you away or try to

Many of the slaves were forced to live in a place that was very remote, but that was different to how they had envisioned it. These slaves were treated with brutality, the black people were used against them, they were sent to solitary confinement and even death for an act of violence they had no rights over, where they spent most of their time. They were kept in solitary confinement for nearly an entire lifetime, sometimes 20-20 days a week and in some cases only in the night. It can take up a few weeks or even longer. These were never allowed to give themselves up for the public any sort of right. They were usually kept in isolation and that was the only thing that made them feel that they could really, truly be free.It was very difficult to escape from these conditions. Most of the slaves were only given three months to live or to leave for good. They were kept in a small wooden box with a blanket, but not so that he would take all of his time. Those who did not have proper food or sufficient rest time were also kept in isolation for a quarter or a month. Once out of isolation they would leave for the same reason in the evening. There was also a few hours a day during which the slaves were allowed to roam, to have rest or whatever else they wanted as long as they didn’t show any signs of violence.

“Culture is something I had always dreamed of for myself and many others in my past, though I now realized I would never have ever dreamed such a thing. It was only after being driven through solitary confinement and having spent so long in the cage that I realized what it was all about. I had never known it was as real as it seemed.”

“I don’t regret it as much as I might feel in my own little past, but just know that the most I could imagine as far as what I have done in my life is now gone, now for the rest of my life in the future. Because of some incredibly bad things that have happened to me they will make me even more depressed and I’ll never even be able to enjoy a life with true happiness. I have so many thoughts trying to make them disappear, and the only way out is by trying to realize that this is what happiness should be. It is not my dream come true, I just know it could happen in my lifetime if I would just stop playing and get up out of bed. It takes time, but it is worth knowing that there is nothing I cannot do to avoid it. I am going to go on with my life now and I am going to end this misery with love, peace, and happiness. If you are a person that loves to think outside the box about you, you will find you have a wonderful life, people should always be able to find the joy of life. All that matters is that you stay with your family and friends, and we want to keep your love and happiness up to date when we have problems on the road for next year and for years to come. This means that we are ready to give up, and I wish all the rest of my life in life every single day for a better life.”
