American Metal Industries has developed a new product named Curled Metal pads for pile driving application. They believe that introducing this new product will bring customer benefits and double their sales. The issue the company facing is coming up with a price to charge its consumers and how to be partner with many influences in industry to bring its new product into market.
The company is considering the penetration to the market with a new product. After trying out both asbestos pads and AMI pads in a project involving driving 300 piles 50feet into the ground, the result shows that the AMI pads provide better performance in driving piles than the asbestos pads, which are a current standard pads for driving piles into grounds.
Another concern for using asbestos pads is while being heated because of the energy transmitted from hammering, the temperature of asbestos pads can go up to 700 degrees, which create great difficulty when they have to be replaced.
