Please find details below of the choice of assignment questions for Issues in Management. Please selectone of the following, word limit 2000 words, submission date by 12pm on Wednesday 18 December, paper copy to the MSc office and copy uploaded to Canvas as per the normal guidelines:-
1) Since the Middle Ages, there have been a number of financial crises that have disturbed business confidence, and created turbulence in the global economy. Using the most recent examples (since 1929) to illustrate your opinions, what lessons can governments and MNE’s learn from such crises?
2) What are the arguments in support of tax havens? What are the arguments against?
3) What is the relationship between strategy (e.g. a company’s objectives) and human resource management (e.g. staffing) in strategic alliances? Please use joint ventures to illustrate.
You should find that the topics for questions one and two are being covered in the lectures currently run by Mr Hedley Bryers and Professor John Samuels. The topics for question three will be covered by Professor Oded Shenkar, in the lectures taking place in two weeks.
