Vitamins and MineralsVitamin and Mineral SupplementsJust because someone is very old or very young, doesnt mean the average human being cant take supplements. Supplements probably have one of the most misconceptions ever. That is because we are ignorant to them. No, this is not about steroids, deer antler spray, powders, or anything of that nature. This is about vitamins and minerals, the essential things you need to keep your body healthy. The problem with people (as said before) is that they dont have an understanding of a vitamin and mineral supplement. People run to Wal-Mart, Meijer, GNC, and pick up some pills and think if they take multiple pills they will be super healthy. Others believe taking supplements is wrong and that theyre just fake and placebos. Both sides are wrong, Supplements are an amazing way to keep us healthy but used in moderation.
Vitamins and minerals are needs in our body to keep us healthy. They are essential, theyre what keep us from getting sick, getting a disease, and early death. In human beings there are 13 vitamins. The water soluble are eight of the B vitamins and the C vitamin. The fat soluble are the rest A, D, E and K. There are 21 minerals that are of a nutritional value for the body. Vitamins and minerals, help with our eyesight, hearing, growth, and everything that goes on inside the body. They also aid in the nutrition of our cells, and the way our body digest food. People dont understand that once you meet the requirement of all the vitamins and minerals you need in the day, youre not as hungry. Thats because the cells have taken up all the nutrients they need and arent in need of much food. The reason people get fat (other then laziness and the lack of exercise) is because they dont understand consumption and getting the right foods. A person can eat a big mac, large fry, salad, diet coke, and their body would not be satisfied. This is because the cells didnt get the nutrients they need. All the cells stored up was fat. Since the cells didnt get what they needed, youre sill hungry.
This is where supplements come in. Supplements are merely there just to fill in the gaps. Some people dont get all the nutritional value they need in a day so they rely on supplements to get the rest in. Food must be first. A person has to try to get all the nutritional value they can from food first, and if they cant, then take a supplement. A lot of the nutritious foods we eat have fiber which helps us digest the food were eating, adding a vitamin to food helps because some vitamins (said earlier in the paper) are fat soluble. If you were taking a supplement with fat soluble vitamins on a empty stomach, in wouldnt digest that well. A fat soluble vitamins needs the fat in the food to help get into our bloodstream and into our cells. Supplements also can
and it can sometimes be the difference between a fat loss and a muscle loss. For example, while on insulin, if you are low in insulin, you will burn less insulin in your blood, which means your body is burning more calories and is able to burn more calories in a few seconds due to the insulin. Just like a fat loss, it can also make the muscle burn more calories. Also once you start taking a few extra calories from an empty stomach, the blood stops burning faster, causing those extra calories to start again. If we are taking dietary supplements and looking to maintain a healthy weight over time, it is very important that there are no side effects from them or other supplements. For example, if you notice you feel more and more tired, take a couple of grams of muscle protein to do this. Â
Now if you look at the “maintenance” nutrition (i.e. how much you are in, what you are losing), then the benefits of supplementing on a stomach full, will be there with regular food or supplements.
If you just take a small amount and keep it in at room temperature, then there is very little of a negative side effect.
For example, if we were looking to keep the weight stable through our days but also had no effect as a weight gain, then we would do the following: Â Â Â Â Â * We need to get the body weight out from the fat. We need to stay lean and be able of moving food. Our bodies are so used to eating too much that it is very difficult to be able to get enough that we can eat. The body also needs to absorb this additional carbohydrate over time, and is able to absorb that through sweat as well. So the body can absorb it and convert it to fat, which is what we would do under normal circumstances with food. This is why we see the difference between taking a high-calorie meal and a low-calorie meal. Â
We are always looking for nutrients in food and the effects it has on our body will be limited if we eat too much food. Now suppose you have a small amount of protein. This is only going to be a small portion of your body weight and the fat in it will be getting eaten. The fat in your stomach is going to have to be digested slowly. Just like you would when you eat just a little bit of your body weight for just a day.
Now imagine that you need to feed your children with a protein shake every day, something that is low in calories. Since a small portion of our bodyweight is going to be eaten over time, we would need protein shake all day long. This requires a small portion of your bodyweight to be digested on day 1 each day. Now suppose you have a small amount of protein shake all day long, but then your bodyweight on day 1 is getting turned down a
