A case on Organizational Development
Introduction:
I am the founder of web based company that makes massive multiplayer online games. There are currently 5 engineers in my company but I am planning to grow to 50 people within a year. I have to establish a culture in my organization which can sustain all these changes and the mission of organizational development is handled with comfort and ease.
Problem Definition:
The problem is establishing a right culture which is sustained over the lifetime of the organization. The stakeholders of this company are I, the founder and the existing 5 employees. The few questions which have to be explored are as follows:
Creating culture in my company
Making this culture come to life
Making the culture sustainable as it comes to life
Analysis:
The establishment of culture starts with defining a vision and mission/missions for the organization. The objectives, strategy plans, action plans have to be well charted out. The focus should be always made on ingenious leadership i.e., helping the leaders become innovative allies. A decentralized system has to be established which helps in knowing the organization better and whereby all the problems come to the fore and hence problems donÐЎЦt grow. Innovation should be given the first priority because creative thinking can only make an organization like this sustainable. Brainstorming culture should also be focused so that there is good discussion before any decision is taken. The employees should always keep the customers first. The focus of the organization should be to create ÐÐŽÐÒshareholderÐЎЦs wealthÐЎЦ. Training and coaching sessions have to be conducted from time to time so that the new ideas and technology can be easily built into the organization. Both internal and external network should be strong enough to keep up with the fast growing changes. ÐÐŽÐÒKnowledge is powerÐЎЦ and if the networks are good, that will be very easy to find new projects and hence will help the company in the long run.
