Those men were all around people who didnt just study philosophy. They studied maths, sciences, arts, language, and more. Theyre seven areas logic, grammar, rhetoric, mathematics, geometry, music, and astronomy. Specialized knowledge is needed to do certain jobs, however it is believed that everyone needs a general knowledge based on the seven areas above. This separated the freemen from the slaves. During the renaissance education became more important, during this time being well rounded became valued more and so more areas were added to liberal arts than just the seven pillars of knowledge. They added areas were theology, communications, spirituality, arts and physicality. Universities started out with a general, liberal education format. However, slowly, these universities became less and less liberal as technical institutes became more prevalent. Liberal arts institutions just recently became attractive again. The situation began to change once people started to realize that while the need for professionals is always great, there is a more stressing need for workers with well-established transferable skills. Its once again the popular opinion that a well-rounded basic education in several areas is better than very specific knowledge in one narrow range. Modern Liberal Arts colleges exemplify that opinion, by offering a large variety of courses- from English and other languages to mathematics, the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and more), social sciences (theology, psychology, political science), and lots more .General education changed also by becoming more diverse.
Four-year colleges offer four-year programs that lead to a bachelors degree. These include universities and liberal arts colleges. Two-year colleges offer programs that lead to a certificate or an associate degree. These include community colleges and vocational- technical colleges. Universities are larger and offer more programs. They normally offer bachelor, master, and doctoral programs. They often contain smaller colleges. These colleges offer a set of programs in subjects such as mathematics and engineering and so forth. The tuition at a university is higher. Community colleges offer certificates and associate degrees, these programs are normally focused on certain career paths. Community colleges also have affordable tuition. Vocational colleges are schools that focus on certain careers that need specialized training. Some of these careers are nursing, culinary arts, and heating and cooling (Big).
HIGH FUTURE COLLEGE PROGRAMS:
A few schools in the U.S. still offer graduate bachelor’s programs in science, math, economics, and engineering. These include colleges at the University of Texas at Austin, University of Chicago, and the University of Arizona. All three programs, however, focus instead on education. One of them is the Texas Tech University Extension program. Students at UT Tech and the University of Alabama have a similar program. A second is the University of Tennessee.
Another major program has a smaller, more experienced college as well as an American University and College of the Business.
In the United States, for the first time, more than 20% of students have a bachelor’s degree. This means that about 10 years into their education, almost 10% are making a single attempt at a master’s in something other than science. In recent years, at least 7.4 million people have college degrees, of which just over 6.1 million college graduates are already in college. This number, together with the increase in students having a bachelor’s, means that nearly half of all college graduates now have a full-time job or an associate’s degree, for any level of educational attainment, over the past five consecutive years.
Most universities offer four-year degrees. One could argue that these four-year colleges are the future. Yet, while the average degree awarded to more than 70% of undergraduate students goes back to 1849, today and at present, there are no official criteria assigned to college degrees. These degrees can now be acquired freely by most students without any requirement.
What is needed for these four-year colleges? A four-year college is a school that trains students to live in and work long-term. In this case, college is not the only major path through which students are given their major. Students who become a full-time undergraduate or associate of an existing school have the option of taking up full-time jobs. For those who apply for a job, college is likely to be a strong option as it allows students to return to the previous position at a relatively recent age, and also offers a sense of belonging and a sense of security. As tuition rates go up over the next 5-10 years, these students could potentially get in the program sooner than most.
In our experience as students, the best way to prepare for college is with long-term career choices. In the case of college degrees, one option that is available is a bachelor degree. These programs focus on specialized professional development instead of the individual development and education of a student.
There is some evidence to suggest that undergraduate degrees might be less than two years of college experience, and that in doing so a considerable amount of knowledge and experience have been lost. In this context, a bachelor degree may be the option that is considered. It is possible that college degree may have lost some of this knowledge or that the lack of a formal college degree may have helped to diminish this advantage. Nevertheless, the idea that graduate degree could be used as a means of acquiring a professional development degree has little basis.
Conclusion
Given the vast amount of potential offered by modern graduate education, we expect graduate graduate education to remain the greatest form of education in the nation. The main challenge has been to provide all students with the best possible education. Unfortunately, graduate students are far more likely to get in the way, and to lose the most common opportunities for learning. This includes getting in the way of college training.
