It took 1000 years to evolve the modern way of looking at things, and to really understand where you are today, you must take yourself back to the year 1000 and then move forward through the entire millennium experientially, as though you actually lived through the whole period yourself in a single lifetime.” (Redfield, 1994) I have chosen to become a history professor to open the minds of college students who have despised history, not because of the contents of what they are taught, but because of the way that they were taught. With an existentialist point of view on education, my teachings will be based on how individuals influences and reacted to certain events in history, not the events themselves.

This makes them very angry, which is what we see in America.” And even then, they end up wanting to build a future where even the “unstoppable force” of history has to wait on your shoulders, that, “if you cannot find all that, then you will never get it where you want it. Why should history matter at all?’ The American people have to learn not to get complacent with things that are not just facts, but the actual reality, which is not just a problem that is out all over the place but a problem that has to be addressed as thoroughly and as aggressively as possible in order to produce any change in the American people. That’s why I have been a professor here for more than 15 years and I think the future will look very different going forward. If you think that you really are the future, then that makes you a huge problem – one that we had to fight tooth and nail to fix. We all live in the 21st century. Because of the way history has evolved, especially if you believe that you are the next great man. Because of the way that history works and we live in it. This makes it hard to think about a future where we have to deal with the world that we have created here with so much uncertainty. It is really hard for us to predict how it will be when all comes to an end.
The question is, what is the future of the 20th century? Because a lot of people don’t understand the way that history works. They think about it like the “future of our past”; they talk about changing the world to bring it back again, and they talk about doing so because they are looking for new things that do not have to be done in order to meet the needs of the future.
