Mission Back to the Future
With two minutes until liftoff, Ted, Bill, and Traci were reviewing last minute preparations for the launch. And with everything ready for liftoff, the countdown started and ended with the ship hurtling into space. Within seconds, they were in orbit and headed for the broken satellite. This particular mission was to repair the non-functioning spy satellite, but they never would expect what was to come.
As the team prepared to exit the ship to start the repair, Ted, the silly one of the group, spotted a large object speeding toward them. He made his observation known to the rest of the team, but being the joker of the crew, his statement was just ignored. Minutes later, Bill glanced over his shoulders and looked out into the big, black universe and with no time to react, they were hit by a massive asteroid that Ted had warned them about earlier. The space rock pushed them into the gravitational pull of a black hole. As the crew soon discovered, there was nothing they could do to correct the crash course away from the enormous black hole. In mere seconds, they were plunged into this gigantic rip in space. As the ship spun around and around, the crew suddenly passed out.
When the team awoke, they found themselves crashed in the middle of an orange grove. Disoriented from the crash, they slowly made their way out of the ship to find out where they were. A few minutes passed, and they found themselves on the outskirts of a small town. As they made their way into the central square, they started to notice that the unusual clothing of the towns people. The town seemed strange. Bill approached a paper boy on a street corner and asked, “Hey son, what day is it?”
“Monday sir,” the boy replied.
“Impossible,” protested Bill. “We launched on a Tuesday.”
“Yes sir, its a beautiful day here in San Francisco on this Monday afternoon, May 5, 1935,” explained the boy.
As they walked away pondering about what the child had said, they thought there was no way that they could have traveled back in time. But, the black hole had flung them into the past.
After a few minutes of gathering their thoughts, they came up with a plan to return to the present. Debating their options, Bill immediately took charge of the plans to rebuild the ship into a time machine. As Bill started building, Traci left to gather more needed materials to complete the ship. Ted then left to retrieve oranges. After a short time of gathering everything, the group reconvened and began turning the old ship into a time machine. With the materials available, they had to create a machine that produced enough electrical charge to make time travel possible. After three days of building and altering the machine, they finally completed it.
