poverty is a state when an individual is not able to fulfill his basic amenities and basic needs such ac housing,food and clothing.it is the state in which an individual suffers from drastic conditions whether physical or mentalin india,many people are below poverty line.they suffer from great miseries and lives in drastic conditions.poverty is of two types-absolute poverty,relative poverty .then there is above poverty line people and below poverty line peoplethose who are above poverty line enjoys enough facilities to live a happy life but the worst conditions are of those who are below poverty line …..our govrnment is taking a lot of steps to finish this social evil..however,it cannot be totally uprooted but it can be minimized..our government has started a lot of progammes to uproot this monstrous problem…giving education to the masses will be the best step to finish poverty because if the common people will be aware ,then they can fight this evil more efficiently…..the problem of poverty is closely linked with the problem of unemploymentpoverty and unemployment are the twin social problems which are found throughout the lenght and breadth of this country.though is regarded as a developing country it is very badly facing the problem of poverty.we became independent six decades ago but still our society has not become free from the stranglehold of the problems such aas poverty.it is unfortunate that in india reliable data is not available on poverty..however ,some private individuals and private agencies are making attempts to estimate poverty in india.poverty has a number of causes-economic,demographic and social causes..social causes include traditionalism,illiteracy and ignorance
