A value is a subconscious feeling or intimate attitude that we have towards something precious to us. Values frequently vary from person to person, although what they share common is their belief in what is considered good, or the right thing. Very often, our values are what influence our behaviour, how we react to situations and what we say or do, therefore having values is important to us all.
Values are what distinguish our decisions, whether they are to be right or wrong. They crate the essential foundation of how we are defined in the future. They manage our lives by individualizing our aspirations; what is right for us and positively leads us in that direction. Examples of some values are moral, aesthetic, material, social and cultural.
Moral values are the values, which determine our actions. They internally inform us of the instinctual outcome of a situation, whether it is to be good, bad, right or wrong. Imperative characteristics of a Moral value are honestly, equality, fairness and tolerance. Moral values are indeed needed by all, in order to promote peace and fairness throughout the world, where as without moral values corruption becomes present. Therefore, they are evidently needed by all.
The notion of an aesthetic value is sensual pleasure; the gratification from sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. In other words, aesthetic values are what create the attitude of all human beings. They establish our interests and our appreciation towards food, music, art and literature. They are essential in order for everyone to find their passion or what they believe life calls them to do.
Material values are focused more on what is needed for humanity. It defines the infrastructure of human beings, such as food, clothing, shelter, security and comfort. The necessary means for good material values are to provide what is truly important or needed for us to survive or live happily. In this age, material values can be easily confused, which often leads people to live excessively, this goes to show that having the correct values are what can prevent this kind of lifestyle.
What creates the bonds of family, friendship and relationship is the presence of social values. Social values can determine our attitude towards the people we let into our lives and what people we chose to let in. The basis of social values is cooperation, respect, friendliness and good communication. By sustaining a consistent effort to practice these characteristics, positive and beneficial relationships may be created. It is important to harbor social values in order to avoid conflict with the wrong people and to create links with the right.
