Baraka NotesStart of film: Somber music, capturing the audience’s attention, pureness and beauty of the surroundings, still, quiet, monkey sitting in hot natural spa., natural surroundings.Asia: daylight on Asia, abandoned, quiet, still, smoggy (add effect), maybe early morning, sunrise, cleaning, preparing the city, carrying goods to the market, spiritual offerings all over the place, prayer hour, uniformity in the prayer. India Monks, silence (you can tell they’re silent event though there are no words, third eye, spiritual, way of life, customary, praying, chanting.Jewish, Amish maybe, plain dressed, not concerned on the way they look, more customary culture. Muslim, kissing locks, symbolism, Mosques, Taj Mahal, Catholic, church, incents, Rome, prayers. Though every culture around the world is different they’re based on the same principles. Every country has unique prayers, traditions and ceremonies. Every country has something to look up to. Things in common:-prayer-offerings -dedication-dress code-symbolic imagery-silence-peacefulnessIn today’s busy, robust world people need to seek sanctuary. Vivid, beautiful, serene imageryBail, more spiritual prayer. Elder guiding chants, no one questions authority, everyone follows.  Different sides, but uniformVolcanos – silence around something so profound, that could have such a detrimental impact on the surrounding areas. Volcanos are often very symbolic in cultures, people often pray to volcanos. Connecting the ground to the sky. Days passing, darkness rolls in but brightness always shines through. Everything exists among one another. Ayers rock vast yet still a tiny part of the world.
Cultural imagery, body painting, markings, scars, signifies something special or millstones for cultures. “Poor” by western standards, “Rich” in terms of happiness. People that come from the least are the most happy. Western cultures think they need more while some cultures don’t know any different and enjoy what they have. More chanting and prayer. Beautiful colours, dressings, happiness, colours are vibrant and wonderful, always dancing and chanting. Birds flying in the sky, waterfalls – constant flow, constant life, rainbow majestic, above the world above it all. Break in scene. From peaceful to destructive, shift in movieVast area, storming, rain forest being cut down, devastation, zoom in on ants, this shows affecting even the smallest creatures, destroying a homes for not only people but animals. Ruining the purity that was once in the world. Death in the environment, somber, ugly landscapes, locals curious as to what’s happening to their landscape. Cramped lifestyle and way of living, people jammed together, having to build massive cities, build upwards to fit people, ugly landscape, loss of spiritless, babies in bars in windows, can go out and play. Commercial industries funding lifestyle, markets. People rolling tobacco in poverty, the smoking in another country, all connected regardless of knowing or not. Then pictures or smokes in the background. Sleep chambers, people taking nap to get through the day in the work place. Show casing man with full body tattoo, what is he trying to signify. Trying to bring some kind of spiritual. Water running over him, but tattoo won’t wash away. Life is none stop, go go goFast paced life, constant moving and growth in the world, everyone has somewhere to be and people to see.
