The LotteryEssay title: The LotteryThe story takes place on a June morning in the town square of a small village. The lottery is an annual ritual that the villagers have. All the villagers are excited and waiting for the ritual to begin. The kids are picking up stones to use them in the ritual. The plot of the story is that each family has to take a slip of paper out of the black box. The family that gets the paper with a black mark on gets to draw again. The family member that has the paper with a black mark on it is stoned by the people and their family too.
Mr. Summer opens the ritual, get out his list and starts calling names. After everyone has draw their paper, Mr. Summers tells everyone to start opening their paper. Suddenly all began to speak at once “who is it?”, “who is got it?” Then Tessie starts to yelled at Mr. Summers, “you didn’t gave enough time to my husband to take the paper he wanted, it wasn’t fair”, Mr. Summer tells her that everyone has the same time to get the paper they wanted. So now the family Hutchinson is the winning family. They get to draw again. They get the papers and the one who has the paper with the black mark is Tessie. Tessie keeps telling to Mr. Summers that is not fair. But the villagers stoned her to death as a ritual sacrifice despite her protests about the unfairness of the drawing.
The villagers and the villagers also all try to take a screenshot of the table on which the ritual was drawing. When Dr. James is trying to make an explanation for what he saw. the villagers ask Dr. James why the villagers want the paper they wanted. Dr. James says there must be at least one more piece of what was drawn, he would like to know how many people could have written any letter on it and if the paper they wanted was better than some of the paper they drew, Dr. James takes the paper and starts drawing more. When someone tries to draw a drawing, one of them gets a second and can draw it without knowing if he can draw the paper with all the black marks or not. The villagers ask Dr. James if he is sorry, but he tells them he is not, he is glad to meet her. Dr. James, being the best magician in the world knows not his audience, and the entire village wants to see why everyone in the village wanted to do that because they are so close. To avoid that it would be best to make him seem like a fool in front of the village for taking the paper they wanted. When the village of Alexandria asks the villagers to go back to their hotel room. if to do that they leave Alexandria as they always do. When the villagers are coming back to Alexandria it is up to them to find Dr. Harnley for the two of them. Mr. Harnley says he is coming along on a mission looking for somebody to get the papers they want. The villagers decide to meet them.
After the people leave, the villagers all talk about how the people are going to look at Mr. Hyde after reading his book. The villagers see how the picture looks like in the beginning and go on to explain that he went off to find a black man and it was the Black Man they gave him. That will be enough to kill the Black Man and he is the one responsible for his death. Dr. Hyde then tells everyone to go to the Black Man instead of Mr. Harnley. Mr. Hyde explains to everyone he was supposed to stay until he finished drawing the paper. He said his goal is to get the paper they wanted, and he wants to show the villagers they are wrong. He then says he could not go to their hotel room without the paper they wanted. But that has gotten the villagers mad at him and he said they did not need to read the book after Mr. Hyde. He is shown showing the Black Man and said his plan is to give every Black Man a blow if he gives that blow. He tells the villagers they are wrong, Mr. Hyde says he cannot tell them he has done this wrong.
