In todays world, multinationals are growing and expanding at a huge rate. Most of the companies today are owned by huge colossal company empires. All lot has been said about the negatives of these companies. But, these companies are not all bad; most of them have huge social programs and charities for poverty and children. There are 61,000 multinationals, with more than 900,000 affiliates worldwide. Their revenue represents approximately one-tenth of the worlds gross domestic product. There is so much criticism about multinationals. Such as: destroying the environment, animal cruelty, advertising and nutrition. McDonalds is one of those companies that had been downgraded and fought against. Such as the huge public case made against it named “McLibel Trial”. This trial was very devastating for McDonalds. Multinationals tend globalize the country that they are in, by increasing the transfer of information and technology and higher employment for the people of that country. I feel although McDonalds may do a lot of bad things, they do a lot of good things. They support charity and poverty stricken people all over the world
McDonalds is probably one of the best know companies in the whole world. It is also one of the most profitable companies in the world. McDonalds is the leading global foodservice retailer it has over 30,000 local restaurants. Their world famous food includes the “Big Mac, world famous French fries and the egg Mc Muffin”. McDonalds restaurants, offer toy promotions and often have in built playgrounds, which are especially popular with children. In its restaurants they serve more than 52 million people in a 120 different countries each day. More than 70% of McDonalds restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local men and women. Back in the mid 1990s McDonalds used to open a new restaurant every 3hours!!!
There has been much talk about the food quality of McDonalds. McDonalds has attempted to accommodate increasing customer demand for healthier food. Back in 1986 McDonalds began offering nutritional information about the items on its menu. The company also began to offer lighter entrees which included salads and frozen yogurt. McDonalds serves 100% beef and 100% chicken in all of its restaurants. More than 2,000 safety and quality checks are made before the food reaches the restaurants from the
