I’m learning more about government than I ever was before. They would occasionally tell me to help with delivering papers and other things to do as well. They also even gave me a mini lesson on what is happening each day! The more I thought about it, the gladder I am to be able to have this opportunity to learn about different types of information pertaining to our government. The reason I decided to participate in the Washington D.C. internship was to learn more about our government and how it functions. I’m actually quite interested in politics and any topics associated to government. In order to learn more about our government and how it has impacted our society today, I joined the internship program to develop a better understanding of our government today. It’s fascinating how Greece and Rome has helped shape our government into what it is today. Most of us often forget the role the government plays and take its help for granted. There is so much history behind our government that I can’t wait to discover; I’m bursting with excitement! I often wonder how the idea of government came about. Who came up with the idea and how? Just the idea of how the government maintains order and prevents chaos interests me.
The topic I am most interested about is the different branches. I ponder about whether or not the three branches are functioning today as it should. I’m really excited to learn more about the different roles each branch has and I hope to be more familiar with what the judicial, legislative, and executive branch does. Once again, I’m glad that I was able to experience this opportunity of being a part of the Washington D.C. internship. Hopefully I’ll be more familiar with government in the future and will be able to make a difference in the world, improving the lives of our society.Sincerely,Barbara Lin
