Furthermore, the ambience in the palace becomes dark and bleak the moment Antigone commits suicide. This reflects the despondent mood and foreshadows Haemons suicide. The set of the play is successful in generating
a great deal of interest; many people’s opinions of the play itself are based on this novel. Thus, Antigone’s life is in complete and total conflict with his mother. For some, this makes Antigone unable to cope with the situation that has led to his own death and suicide. He feels that he cannot live to see his real future. He may be feeling depressed at one time or another because he does not know the future of his family and friends. The life and problems he is experiencing were not meant to be his own at all, but rather they were caused to bring in people who wanted to be with him. This has caused Antigone to fall in love with some of the people around him and to realize that there is a big difference of feelings. This is why the film’s production of that story involves a wide shooting of an entire city, from the stage until the end. Therefore, that production is a work of art in that it exhibits Antigone’s struggle with the state which led the character to his suicide and to his eventual death.
