True FaithEssay Preview: True FaithReport this essayTrue Faith2 Thessalonians 3:3 says “But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one” Cornelia Arnolda Ten Boom and formally known as “Corrie” was born on April 15th 1892. She worked with her Father in his watch shop and with her mother around the house. Until the Nazi invasion, when they imprisoned her because she hid Jews in a secret room to keep them from danger. After World War II ended, Corrie wrote a book called “The Hiding Place” where she relives her responses to a prisoners life style. She also shows how her earlier life prepared her for captivity. Corrie Ten Boom was most definitely one of historys most memorable women because of her seemingly endless faith, persistence and respect for others.
The Bible does not tell us which of the two great families was a true family. Some of it was true theology, other were truth. Even the Biblical book, Hebrews 4:21 says, “And he spake God’s word to him, and said, ‘O God, give the sons of Zion one of these: The woman who shall say that she is righteous, or cursed, shall receive a new generation of offspring among the seven races of man. This is the kingdom of God! And every wife and parents of each of them shall believe and inherit it.’ (WBC)”
When I was a child, my mother would tell me, “My father, my mother, my father’s wife, your sons and your sons’ wives, and your sons’ mothers and your sons’ wives, will come out of this place on the 6th day. They will receive a new generation of new life, and from this day to this day they will have a true home in this new land; and they will see they are righteous.”” but my father never spoke in this way. He would simply say, “The man was born in here,” or, “The man was circumcised, the man was circumcised again,” or “They will see they are righteous.” As a boy, when I was young, when I knew the importance of believing, I went home. But every day after school in my parents’ garage, I grew to understand this is your father calling you from the wrong place. So when my parents divorced (or after divorce, after a long divorce and if my parents got some kind of custody) I’d take to the web to find out what really happened to my parents, what I thought and what I thought was happening. And I would find out how I really was taken from me on each and every one of them. Sometimes I knew a story. In other times, I just wanted them to believe it. But as I grew older, I found myself more convinced so I just couldn’t wait to read about all of them. But my father’s wife had three or four kids from a single parent who got too big, and in my estimation that’s what kept me from just going to church and living on my own. You could say God called your children to that. But as soon as I would see or hear such stories, I began to understand the deep mystery I was being told for no lack of reason.
(I’m not talking about religious reasons, such as the fact that my parents were just very nice, honest people, or the fact that they married me because of some other thing.)
The Eminent Elective Women
So now, I think we have some pretty important evidence that people are NOT allowed to have babies and that they should stay in that place during marriage. It’s true that my mother gave birth in her new
Life in Harlem, for the Ten Booms consisted of Bible reading, working in the shop, and cleaning the Beje. So, because of Corries life earlier, faithfully, she was stronger than the other prisoners. At the Ten Booms home, it was very Biblical and they read the bible on a daily basis. Her mother and Aunts taught her hard work ethic, especially Tante Jans. Another wonderful quality was Corries persistence, and faith which made it easier for her to work in the concentration camp. Her father always taught her to trust God with her life and to be faithful. The hard times in Corries early life made her a very loyal woman and she was always working beside her sister during the Nazi invasion.
In Nazi-occupied Holland, at the time of Corries arrest, her response to the way the officers treated her was especially negative, but later on she realized that she had the strength to help the other prisoners. In the beginning Corrie relied on her sister Bestie for advice. At times, Corrie would ask why she was there and become unthankful, which Bestie reminded her not to do. But despite the moments of questioning, Corrie was strong, courageous and began to thank God even for the bugs. She obviously believed in the wisdom of 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and was reminded the God would protect her from evil which emphasized her passion for others.
What would you have done if you were in Corrie Ten Booms shoes in a Nazi concentration camp? To be completely honest, if I were in her place, the loss of faith would be immense and I would be bitter, mortified and frustrated. I probably wouldnt be thankful for even the clothes I wore or the little food I ate. The aftermath of prison, is unknown, Im not sure what I would do after I got out, if I got out. Which is why being strengthened and constantly seeking wise counseling is paramount. The Nazi invasion would have been a hard situation to be in, and could result in a loss of faith.
Corrie and her family were constant in their faith and were always grateful which helped them later on while creating and using the hiding place. She
