“Celsea, when are you comin back?” Jake, my boyfriends two-year-old little brother asked me as I was walking to the door.
“Jake, Ill be back tomorrow and play some more then, ok!” I replied.
“Otay, well intase I dont see you, I wove woo!” Jake replied with a Ðtiss and a hug as he calls them.
As I was driving home I was thinking about those three little words. I had heard these words from Jake many times before, but when I went back and thought about them, they had a deeper meaning to me.
I thought back to when Jake first met me and was scared of me not that I would hurt him, but I was a new person in his house. He would always stay close to his mom, knowing that she would protect him.
Now that he knows me better and has that comfort with me, when other new people come over, he will come and sit in my lap and stay close to me, knowing that I will protect him should anything happen.
No matter what happens between Craig and me, I know that Jake will still love me and trust me to protect him. Wouldnt life be great if we could love like a child?
Love is such a sure thing or so we think. Its actually very complex if we take a moment to think about it. See, there is “I love you”, “Im in love with you”, and “I unconditionally love you”, all sounding similar but having totally different meanings. The one that is most intriguing to me is “I unconditionally love you”.
I believe that unconditional love can only be exercised by three types. Number one being Jesus, he died for all of our sins, for us his children. No matter what we do wrong, he will always forgive and accept us as we are. No matter what, he loves us. This has to be the most powerful example of unconditional love.
