A Pick-Axe
A long time ago in Ulysses, Kansas lived a farmer named Ajax. Ajax, well over 6 feet tall was very strong and used his muscles along with his beloved tool the (pick axe) to dig rows for planting crops. Ajax lived with many other farmers in Ulysses that loved to farm the fertile land. One day as they were working in the fields they saw a large group of men walking towards them. These werent ordinary men, they were a group of vagabonds who lived to take over land that farmers owned. When the men approached the fields they demanded the farmers to turn their land over. Ajax and the others refused, and were forced to go to war.
All of the farmers except Ajax ran from their homes and moved far away. The next day the army returned and saw that everyone had left. There was only one single object left, a pick axe. The army men cheered and laughed, as they moved on to the land once belonging to the farmers and Ajax or so they thought. One night as they were outside they saw a pick axe, they wondered how it had gotten out there from the house. What they didnt know is that the pick axe was Ajax. All of a sudden, the pick axe transformed and they realized it was Ajax.
The army men started shooting at him, and the ground began to shake beneath their feet. They stopped for a second and realized it was moving, Ajax lifted his pick axe above his head and with great force slew it into the ground creating a tremendous ditch, the next thing the men realized was that they were at the bottom of the ditch, helpless and left to die. The next morning the captain realized that a large amount of his troops were missing. He asked if anyone
