Night dives are awesome!
The highlight of my week was that I got to assist on a night dive as part of Ryans PADI Advanced Open Water course – I love night dives!
Why would you want to dive in the dark? Is something Ive been asked lots of times. The first time I did a night dive I was asking myself the same thing as I stood on the dive platform of Emperor Asmaa in the Red Sea. I was kitted up and ready to go, all the others were in the water as I stood, terrified, looking down into the darkness – the beautiful turquoise sea of earlier now look scary and uninviting. Everyone was encouraging me in and, as I took a giant stride, cheered. Slightly embarrassing. Anyway, under the watchful eye of the divemaster I had a fantastic time. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The site looked very different to how it had looked earlier with the sunlight streaming through the water, but, surprisingly, I loved it! When our time was up and it was time to get out, I actually felt sad it was over. Until the next evening!
Tempted yet? Come and join us for a night dive!
