EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Nintendo of America can benefit greatly from 2015 Solutions’ proposal. The proposal examines Nintendo’s current problem and provides multiple recommendations in order to alleviate the problem. Nintendo authorized the study when their stock price started falling in December of 2012. 2015 Solutions’ findings and conclusions are based on extensive research by examining the current gamming industry and relevant paradigms.
The proposal discusses its findings and conclusions in the following areas:
The Problem. The Japanese electronics company faces a severe sales setback. Demand for the new console, the Wii U, has dropped significantly compared to its release at the end of 2012. In January, Nintendo sold 46,000 units compared to its 460,000 units in December. Nintendo is affected because their stock price has dropped approximately 12 percent in December and 8 percent in January.
The Plan. After online research and examining paradigms, 2015 Solutions has facilitated an effective plan in order for Nintendo to resolve this problem. The plan should approximately take place over a year’s time beginning in the end of 2013 and ending in 2014. The reoccurring aspect of our proposal is to make the Wii U more attractive, especially for right audience. In addition, Nintendo needs to create buzz by launching a public marketing campaign that offers incentives for participation.
Recommendations. Because Nintendo’s original target market has shifted towards the mobile and tablet industry, Nintendo needs to target a new audience. 2015 Solutions recommends that new audience be the hardcore gamers consisting of males between the ages of 18 and 25.
