All of the characters, Adam, Eve, Equality, and the Golden One were either expelled from or left their societies. In the story of Adam and Eve, they ate the forbidden fruit that God told them to not to eat. God then expelled them from the Garden of Eden. In the novella Anthem by Ayn Rand, Equality and the Golden One committed actions they shouldnt of that made them have to leave their society. Adam and Equality are both similar and different, and they both committed sins.
In both the stories of Adam and Eve, and Equality, there were sins committed. In Adam and Eve, Eve took a fruit off a tree that she was forbidden to eat from and she took a bite out of the fruit. She gave into temptation from the evil serpent. Adam then ate the fruit too because they thought they would gain knowledge. In Anthem, Equality knew he wasnt supposed to become too smart, however he chose to try and learn in the tunnel that he discovered when he first became a street sweeper. He created a lightbulb which is symbolically similar to the forbidden fruit. This is because they both represented a form of knowledge or a enhancement to their society. When equality left the society it was a sin because nobody had ever been known to go into the Uncharted Forest. The Uncharted Forest is also symbolically similar to the Garden of Eden because they both represent happiness and peace. Equality also committed a sin when he dared to love the women of his choice. The Golden One is easily compared to Eve because they are both left their societies however the Golden One chose to leave for Equality while Eve was expelled from her society.
Adam and Equality are both similar in that they both committed sin in their societies. Adam ate the forbidden fruit that God told him not to eat while Equality gained knowledge at his own leisure when he knew that was forbidden. ” We were[I was] born
