This news article is about the nuclear crisis in Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant which was hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.
The destructive earthquake and resulting tsunami damaged the plants power systems, causing the failure of cooling systems to fail. A series of gas explosions followed. AAfter that, a massive amount of radioactive substances continues to release from the nuclear plant, contaminating the sea water and plants nearby. This poses a great threat on the environment and citizens living nearby. RecentlyThe radiation level becomes very high comparing to the standard level. Whats more, Japan has raised the emergency at the Fukushima nuclear plant from level five to level seven, which is the highest level on the International scale of nuclear accidents.

They complain that the Japanese government underestimate the severity of the nuclear crisis and react to it very slowly. They also blame the Japanese government for lack of transparency. Most of them doubt if the radiation level released from the government is accurate or not. Some fishermen also worry that the radiation released from the nuclear plant would contaminate the marine life nearby. This would definitely upset the whole fishery industry. Other countries ,for example China and South Korea, also express their discontent as the Japanese government discharge the contaminated water into Pacific Ocean.
I am very concerned about the nuclear crisis in Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. The nuclear crisis has already caused a devastating impact and contaminated the crops and animals in the affected region.
This nuclear crisis reminds me the potential hazards of developing nuclear power. Actually, there are both pros and cons of developing nuclear power.
On the plus side, the nuclear power generation emits a relatively low amount of greenhouse gases and hence slows down the global warming. Also, the efficiency of nuclear power generation is very high. It can generate a large amount of electricity in a single small nuclear plant. the operating cost of it is quite low, it
I think the government should take immense actions to prevent the nuclear from getting worsen
