Introduction
When preparing a mission statement for an organization or for a department within an organization, a mission statement should be clear and concise. The goal or goals of a mission statement is to find a way to incorporate social meaning, criteria of the organization, address concepts of the organization such as moral and ethical position of the organization and identify the vision. A mission statement will also be able identify the image of an organization by addressing the organizations market and product and/or service it has to offer. When developing a mission statement for an organization, a strategic plan or goal is an important starting point when developing an organizations mission statement. As discussed by David, F.R. The Office of State Purchasing or also known as the Office of Procurement Services is a department within the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and has the responsibility of providing quality service for state agencies and recognizing the importance of the taxpayers dollar. As the purchasing arm of state government, State Purchasing is responsible to establish contracts for all types of supplies and services required by state agencies. the Office of Procurement from Community Rehabilitation Programs OPCRP, formerly the State Use Program of Ohio, assists state agencies with purchasing various supplies and services from community work centers that employ individuals with work-limiting disabilities. The Cooperative Purchasing program combines the purchasing power of participating political subdivisions, such as local governments, schools and universities, to procure supplies and services at the lowest cost.
