“Anorexia.” Mamas Health. 11 Nov. 2006
This website is the official Web site for the Mamas Health home page. It is a non-profit organization. They seek to provide all the information you need about eating disorders, including anorexia. Mamas health sees anorexia as a disease where people starve themselves. They constantly try to provide the best information for people to learn more, and more about anorexia including how to prevent it, treat it and learn about it. The web site seems really informative and organized. They have sections about anorexia that other sites did not have, including anorexia with pregnancy, as well as anorexia in the news. Compared to other sources, this site has a lot more information. My concern is where they got this information from, because I did not see a list of references at the bottom of the article about anorexia.
“Anorexia Nervosa.” Family Doctor.2001. American Academy of Family Physicians. 11 Nov. 2007.
This site covers general information on anorexia nervosa. It is simple, but well organized. This is the site with the least information on their site. They cover treatments, how people get anorexia, and general things like that. Compared to other sites this is a least informative sites because it covers just general questions. I have no concern where they got the information from because they have a work cited page. If they had more information that is not just general I would be happier, but general information is important to readers who do not know much about anorexia.
Gallagher, Kathe. “Anorexia Nervosa.” Health Library from Healthwise. 11 Oct. 2005. Seton Family of Hospitals. 11 Nov. 2007.
This is my favorite website regarding information on Anorexia Nervosa. It divides in sections about each topic on anorexia. It has included many topics that other websites do not have. The site seems really informative and organized. There is a works cited page at the bottom so I know where the information was gathered from, as well as that, it is true. Compared to other site, Kathe has provided a lot more topics on anorexia that other sites did not have. There are no concerns that I have regarding the information provided on the site. One thing that impressed me was right at the beginning of article it has a question that states ” Is this topic for you?” and that is something important to our readers.
