Oil Drilling Should Not Be Open in Anwr
Oil drilling should not be open in ANWR
As our society highly developed, oil becomes the essential resource we rely on. There is no doubt that the large storage capacity of oil and gas in ANWR is good news for human beings. However, I personally hold the point that oil drilling in ANWR is not necessary right now or even in the future.
Firstly, the drilling of oil in ANWR will absolutely cause environmental problems and affect our present ecosystem. Despite the process of exploitation itself, the more oil we produce and use everyday, the worse our environment will be. Human overspend on oil will aggravate green house effect and the appearance of acid rain.
Moreover, from statistics we observed, we can find that the storage of oil in ANWR is only around 3% of the global oil production per day. Also, at present consumption rate, ANWR will only last our whole world around 121 days. The effect ANWR can make is really tiny. US still need to rely on foreign exports due to the small proportion ANWR can make.
Finally, our technology today already find a lot of energy to replace oil at some level, which means the use of oil will definitely decrease in the future. Electricity is a good example. It is not hard to find that our daily use energy is transferring from oil or gas to electricity. A large number of car producers already developed hybrid cars and electric cars.
Oil drilling open in ANWR has more negative impacts than positive ones. It is hard to imagine thousands of protected animals and trees are going disappear when the process of oil drilling in ANWR starts. In my point of view, oil drilling in ANWR is totally not a wise choice.
