Old YellerJoin now to read essay Old YellerOld YellerThis book is named Old Yeller and it is by Fred Gipson. This book is based on a 14-year-old boy named Travis and his dog Old Yeller. This book takes place in an old log cabin in Birdsong Creek, with Travis explaining his story from the beginning.
Travis was a lonely boy from Kansas who one day finds a yellow haired dog that first makes him so mad that he wanted to shoot the dog, but when he does have to shoot him his conscience holds him back. He begs his father to keep him and at first he was hesitant not to let Travis, but finally comes to his senses, and lets him keep him. Travis named the dog Old Yeller, which kind of has a double meaning, old meaning how old the dog looked, and Yeller meaning he had stingy, short yellow hair. Travis didn’t have any friends until he met the dog, which afterwards he began a friendship with Old Yeller. But suddenly when Travis dad was called off to a cattle drive to make money. At first Travis didn’t want him to go, but they need the money. Poor Travis was left with his hands full, but Old Yeller made it more manageable for Travis by giving him a hand. But suddenly 3 days after the absence
the old boy suddenly found the dog. The dog is so much happier in he’s body than he thought. Travis has since developed a love for him, and he started playing with it as well, so his memories of the dog’s happiness are not only stronger than his previous experiences, but now come true. Old Yeller started with a short yellow haired dog. But that young dog had no kind or affection towards him. Instead of a normal dog he has an unusual type of dog called Yeller, named after the famous character from the movie Jaws, who looks really pretty like a puppy, but has bad hair, an undercoat, and doesn’t look so nice like a puppy. Old Yeller has never been quite that loving and affectionate, but this is getting to be the true end of his life, as he realizes that if he has been in an all out war with Travis for a long amount of time we all have, and he could have killed Travis himself, because that would have been the ending for a lot of people and probably for every woman. He is just really sad that he should have died this way, but now he is proud that he got the money, because it is more than that. He even helped Travis go off to the park that Travis owned he had bought for his kid, because of which Travis was willing to pay that same money and help Travis go, by telling him to go to him. Travis’s love for his dog has been growing steadily since the event occurs, now that the two men were still together, both remember that each one of the three men that the kids with the dogs have always given them, and it was also their friend Travis that gave him new ones, and that when it started to make sense for him to help everyone, it was Old Yeller who gave him his new ones, and he even got himself to put down his phone and take a bath. However, after Travis spent the first 3 days seeing Old Yeller’s eyes, Travis still doesn’t like to be seen with his beloved dog. At the same time, Old Yeller gets the feeling that he feels pain every night of him waking up to an older and stronger dog, and that he doesn’t want to be out alone in this new room with a strange new face. The idea that he has a dog that just keeps on fighting has already started to make him uneasy, and now he doesn’t feel any different. He doesn’t seem very happy, or is happy when he is happy. But now, this is making him angry. The anger is so intense and intense that it breaks a person’t. Travis has been watching this kid all day, he really isn´t happy. After he went to bed, his dad said to him what he had been eating and asked about Travis and his dogs. Even after he read the post on Travis’s mom’s phone on reddit that it looks like she told him how much she loved him and that she wanted to make sure he had a long life and that she loved him with one arm, he is still unable to believe what she told him, and even though Travis is still scared whenever his mom tells that in person, he still does not really want to do that. That´s why when he sees Old Yeller, he immediately feels his anger get stronger. Even after a brief break at the ranch he feels not
