A psychological process that is nature, is a certain trait that people are born with. There are many traits that could fall into the nature category, and I think a persons intelligence is a example of nature. Intelligence is something that I think most people are born with. I think intelligence is based on genetics, which is nature. Some people are born extremely smart and can study for one hour and memorize five chapters of material, and some people can study for two days and still not understand the basic concepts. Unfortunately for me, I am about in the middle of that range, and no matter how many improve your study habit books, and even a how to make better grades seminar, my grades stay about the same. Therefore due to my own experience, I think I was born with the mental abilities I have, and there is no was to enhance them. I just have to work with them and study a little bit harder than others.
As for nurture psychologists believe that you start of with a clean slate, and everything we know we add bit by bit. I think a persons personality is a good example of nurture. Growing up with different experiences, in different environments can really shape someones personality. A child that is given lots of attention, is loved and cared for is more likely to be loving, and nice to others. If a child is bullied by an older sibling that child will be more likely to mimic the older sibling, and bully others. I dont think that you are born to be a mean, rude or horrible person and that your lifes experiences can shape your personality. Anyone can choose how they want to react and I think that someone can change how they react to certain things. For example are considered strictly nature or nurture. There are also many psychological processes that a considered to be a combination of the two. I think this process is very interesting and would like to learn more on how they determine between the two.
