How Are You Living?
What if you lived in a country where ever thing you do is under surveillance? America is the land of the free where in China is the land of the over watched. Living in America you dont realize how being able to do as you want is a gift. In both China and America theres an epidemic of obesity amongst children. Also, in both country people are figuring out how they can solve the problem. Even with the over populating country China laws needs to be more expectable to the person that lives there. China and America are both big country, with so many different laws one of the issues are alike.
When you think of China you think of this place where amazing food, the people, fashion and how everything you own is made in China. Theres another side of China that you wouldnt expect. For example, theres a one child limit on each house hold, in ought to for you to have another child you have to pay a fine depending the area you live in or hide the baby without the government knowing. According Daniela Deane “couples literally have to line up for permission to procreate” (page 203). The laws in China in a way is smart, maybe If American had these law there would be less of teenage pregnancy, yet I think its too much for a government to tell you when you can have a baby. Also, the only way you can keep a second if youre the only child or if your disable. Finally, Chinas laws are becoming more of an issues then a solution.
Being the only child can be rewarding in some cases, but in others it become a problem. In American if youre the only child usually you have a big extend family with cousins, uncle, and aunts etc. so theres no way you can be selfish to other. According To Deane “a team of Chinese psychologist, asked a group of 360 Chinese children half who have siblings and half who dont, to rate each other behavior. The only children were, without fail, the least popular, regardless of age or social background” (204). A lot of the time the only child is selfish because their parents didnt teach them how to share; growing up I was always taught to share my items. When an only child gets around kids that have siblings they dont know how to adapt to other children interacting with each other. Also, the Chinese people should realize maybe having one child would benefit them, and as for the government they should have a better approach on telling the Chinese people that one baby per-family is helpful to the over growing population. Finally, majority of only children become mean, depressed, angry, lazy and fat.
According to Deane, “in the last 10 years, the problem has become obese children. The number of fat children in China is growing very fast. The main reason is the one-child policy” (202). Obesity is becoming an epidemic in American and China (maybe even worldwide).
