Abstract
When talking about organization, one should remember that it is not like a piece of machinery but rather a group of individuals that interact with one another to accomplish a shared goal. Review of Literature
The connectivity of individuals in an organization grows smaller and keeps on struggling for momentum to maintain their vitality in the society. The organizational behavior is concerned with human understanding of individual and group behavior in relation to other field of studies including psychology, management, sociology, political science and anthropology (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2011). The key concept in organizational behavior includes the perception, attributions and human emotions or behavior will result to achievement of organizations high performance level. There are instances that an organization needs to create constant changes with their organizations mission and structure with impact to the behavior of majority of individuals in the group.
The changes takes place with emphasis on how its leaders should perform their responsibilities and decide rationally in relation to organizations culture, diversity, ways of communication and related core concepts based from leaders educational background and actual experiences for effective management. To validate the study on organizational behavior there are Social psychologist that postulates the causal attribution of individuals that have been responsible for other peoples behavior which is pivotal for effective interpersonal interactions. Perception is an important concept in organizational behavior for it will affect how people act; it is a cognitive process that could provide a meaningful picture of the world depending upon the perception of the manager or leader.
Discussion/Findings
This section will tackle the description of organizational behavior including the three related aspects of individuals with impact on behavior of the organization such as perceptions, attributions and emotions including the responsibilities of its leaders and managers
The reality at work is for manager to manage the organization and not the other way around. In order to implement this concept it is crucial to understand organizational behavior (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2011). One of its most important concept and scientific manuscript is that of perception with broad based challenges for the organization such as diverse background of workforce (Wood, et al 2001). One good example of perception is when an employee states that he or she likes the job is reflective of how the perception of an individual to feel something in the work.
The application of scientific manuscript of Self-Perception Theory for individual to decide based on their attitudes and feelings will depend on various situations. This theory on perception asserted that there is a need for manager to understand the employees attitudes and behaviors to become effective on their management (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2011). An important implication to employees of perception Theory is the relatively low rates of turn-over and absenteeism brought by managers encouragement to create a positive attitude in working environment.
The Perception-Theory is very useful to recognize that employees used to react based on perceptions but not on reality. There is a tendency for employees to have perceptual distortion based on the way they perceive and interpret what they see. The message of perception is loud and clear to call the attention of management and to have a closer look between individuals jobs and management actions. For instance a valued employee left the job due to inaccurate perception is a loss for the organization. Quitting of employees from the job for valid reason is fair.
The cognitive process of perception will have implications on the way people act. The different senses such as sight, touch, hearing, taste, and smell can help in organizing the information about the environment (Schermerhorn, et al 2005). The five senses can help in perceiving and providing a meaningful picture of the environment based on different ways of peoples stimuli. The leaders and managers of an organization should recognize that the perceptual differences exist among people (Locke &.Latham, 2002). The variation of perception from person to person calls for objectivity from the point of view of the manager rather than acting purely on perceptions.
Organizational behavior development is a management function that emerged due to internal fronts such as employees demand for participation on organizations decision making and to have a better control over their lives (Ivancevich & Konopaske, 2011). The Attribution Theory is another scientific manuscript about organizational behavior which was developed to affirm that individuals could be judged differently according to attributions from a given behavior (Locke &.Latham, 2002). The observation of individual behavior can help in determining the internal and external causes of human behavior. The internal behaviors include the personal control of a person while the external are that of outside factors with condenses and consistency.
The most significant aspect of attribution central phenomenon is the tendency of individual to causally attribute others behavior according to their traits and attitudes in certain circumstances or social context
