Organizational Level 3. In this scenario, I believe that communication is the most appropriate based on the Achieve Model. Clarity is needed to define the bigger picture, the Listos vision. When layers of management are added seperating the executive level from the line staff level, communications from the executive level are diminished once they travel through the chain of command. The executive level should get involvled and conduct frequent department meetings with the department managers and all employees in that department. The objective of these meetings should be to discuss how current projects are going, the Listos goals, and issues they are having in achieving those goals as it relates to the success of that specific department. This will give the departments a better understanding of which direction the Listo is going as well as facilitate them in functioning in a way that is more conducive to the companys goals and objectives.
Organizational Level 4. In this scenario, I believe that unifying is the most appropriate based on the Ohio State Leadership Study of initiating structure. I feel after their surge in growth, Listo needs to initiate structure to accomadate. Teams need to be established to work collectivly in accomplishing specific tasks that relate to the overall goal. To obtain that competitive edge, you need to grow your work-force into teams that use the full potential of every individual. An individual, acting alone, can accomplish much; but a group of people acting together in a unified force can accomplish great wonders. This is because team members understand each other and support each other. Their main goal is to see the team accomplish its mission. Personal agendas do not get in the way of team agendas. Teamwork is important because either the product is so complex that it requires a team with multiple skills to produce, and/or a better product will result when a team approach is taken.
