What are some of the benefits to communal ownership?
The land can be passed from one generation to the next.
Surplus items can be pooled together for times of additional need.
Shows that ownership of the land is not needed for someone to take care of it.
One way for bioregionalism to work is by being self sufficient. In what ways would bioregionalism be more self sufficient?
The economy would be more stable because the people would have control of how things were fed in and out of the system.
The area would not be controlled by other outside areas. They would not have to rely on the vast amount of foreign trade.
The area would become richer since there would not be a need to horde money/products to be sure and pay taxes on things such as imports.
The area would be in control of its own currency. Money could be reinvested in the community which would allow for more capital improvements.
The area would be healthier in general. The health of those in the area would be better since they would not have to deal with the side effects of higher pollution due to quantity over quality issues.
