Perfumes and incense have been around for centuries, ever since the time of Cleopatra of Egypt. Perfumes arent just some scent meant to guard unpleasant odor of the body, but it epitomize the characteristics of individuals. Different fragrances adhere to different people; its an implication that not all would spray perfume but some will, and those “some” are people who deem hygiene and vogue are an essential part of their lives. This certain group in society pays attention to fashion and sex appeal, emulating others. They are vulnerable when exposed to simple, but eye-catching, graphics.

Take this one particular perfume ad prominently titled “Miracle So Magic!” by Lancome Paris, displayed on the top left corner in pink text and another wording below it, “The sparkling new fragrance”. The title almost speaks for itself with the addition of the exclamation point, calling out to spectators in the mall. At first glance, one may notice that it is obviously monochromatic. The perfume bottles position is in the same stance of the model, as if it is the model (or vice versa), with the front turned a little to its right. Theres a single air bubble just below the cap, or “neck”, of the pink glass bottle. The title “Miracle So Magic!” appears at the top of it. Also, theres a glittering pink ribbon of a balloon loosely wrapped around the bottle.

The second ad, representing Estee Lauders “Beyond Paradise Men”, is apparently much more of an eye-candy for women, though the ad is presenting cologne rather than a perfume. This ad is fairly a simple advertisement. Theres a naked, yet pale, woman lying below the guy with her arms on top of her head. She has her eyes looking downwards to the right and her mouth slightly open. The black and white, transparent image of the guy model shows him bare chest, leaning towards the right. He has a strong, but imperceptible, facial expression because his smile is a bit subtle. Plus, his black, wavy hair is wet. There is also an image of a
