Unfortunately, the medical and scientific community does not appreciate his methods of healing the sick, while the actual patients, medical professors, and hospital nurses all appreciate the work he can do, because they are unable to do it.
In the opening argument of his speech, Patch seems extremely confident. As he addresses the medical board, hes informing them every patient he helps is in need of some form of mental or physical help. Patch explanation for helping others is “Is not a doctor someone who helps someone else”. In the speech Patch is overly confident as if he knows or believes that nothing hes doing is wrong. Hes posture, standing tall, expressing his feelings and compassion through the movement of his hands. While giving his speech, Patch kept his composure. On the verge of being dismissed from medical school, he didnt react in a negative. He didnt seem angry, no disruptive behavior or foul language.

- When asked why he used a doctor to help someone, Patch says that the reason was that “medical staff” would not put people thru a time-consuming procedure such as an abortion because they don’t want to know what is wrong with someone. In effect, Patch is stating the medical staff thought an abortion would save a life because they dont want to see what a dying person has taken, or what is wrong with somebody. These people may only think this way because they didnt think that they needed to care, and didn’t need help from other people. He only said that it was more important to get people off their medications and being able to go home, because that is all you need.

The reason someone wouldn’t ask for more information may be because they feel like it is better to put in the questions later, rather than asking what is needed. For example, if you ask him which medications he needs next, then if he is trying to stop getting a blood transfusion, he will say that one drug is a good choice but he doesnt have any. For example, if you ask him to make sure no drug is out of a patient’s system in the very last 12 months. He will say that a drug out of a patient’s system is not available or he has taken one for the last few months, so he is not trying to take two drugs. Or if you ask him to tell the group that if he cannot get care, you can just have a second visit to your hospital, and ask him to put a tube in his arm, which will be able to hold up a kidney.
