She received college degrees from Minnesota and Harvard Universities. She married and is the mother of two children. Patricia served as a United States Congresswoman for 12 years and is an accomplished publisher.

Patricia Schroeder was born Pat Nell Scott. She was born in Portland, Oregon on July 30, 1940.
Patricia attended public schools in Texas, Ohio and Iowa. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1961. She received a Law Degree from Harvard Law School in 1964.

Patricia married James Schroeder at the Plymouth Congressional Church in Des Moines, Iowa in 1962. They had two children, Scott in 1966 and Jamie in 1968.

Mrs. Schroeder was first elected to Congress in Colorado in 1972. She became the Dean of Congressional Women and served 12 years in congress.
Patricia made many special accomplishments during her career; She left Congress undefeated in 1996 after serving in the House of Representatives for 24 years, she wrote and introduced the Family and Medical Leave Act in 1985, she has published two books and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Publishers. Patricia was even a candidate for the Presidency of the United States of America.
