Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Will Smith was the second child of two middle-class parents, his father owned a refrigerator company and his mother was part of the school board(biography). Smith began rapping at the age of 12 with teammate Jeff Townes a.k.a. D.J. Jazzy Jeff(biography). Will first achieved the name of prince because he had a great ability to talk his way out of trouble with his parents. This nickname stuck with him and he was now nicknames “Fresh Prince”. Townes and Prince achieved many goals of their life and became very wealthy, that was until smith turned 21. At that age Smith and much of his riches dissipated when he had fallen into debt with the IRS. Luckily an executive by the name of Benny Medina from Warner Bros. came to Will Smith rescue. Benny wanted Will to star in a sitcom(starpulse). “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” aired on September 10th, 1990 it was a hit, so successful it lasted six season(starpulse). Now Smith was back in the game.
In 1991, with good reason, Smith and his two siblings were sent to school by the IRS to enroll in public schools. With the help of the school board and with the help of a local newspaper called the “Boston Times”. After a few weeks in the school system, they joined forces with the FBI to find some money. On April 2nd, 1992, the newspaper published the following story: Smith became the victim of a “spook”. The FBI discovered that a child had been kidnapped, robbed and forced into what they thought was an abusive home for Smith’s five siblings(Biography). Smith claims that the story is an attempt to discredit him and to blame him for things he never did. They believe that only the IRS could save his life. To the outrage of his six siblings, Will Smith was not allowed to enroll the entire school and had to make a series of demands including that the local newspapers report on what they were. The following day, Will Smith walked to his home and asked the police whether they was able to see him or not. Will was found, but they did not show him at school on that day. Since then, Smith has been missing in the U.S. for more than 15 years.
In response to rumors Smith had been abducted and killed by a kidnapper in 1989, Smith had his life turned upside down by police.
During this time, he worked for Al Lourdes. Al Lourdes hired Smith to run errands when the two of them went to the same Walmart store in downtown Philadelphia. The two started to “talk” and Smith could tell that they were in the same store. Al wanted to help Smith learn about the law, so he suggested that Will Smith try to get into Lourdes’ apartment. However, Will told him to stop the conversation and then “tell him this”. Will told Al that he needed to ask for something before Al would “get the hint”. Al then started to attack Smith. With Will and Al, Will had to fend off two gangstas as they attempted to break through the gate on the roof of Al Lourdes apartment. However, one of them managed to free himself and turned around and left. Al managed to jump to safety and the three were able to get into Lourdes’ apartment. Will lost his temper and tried to fight off the assailants. Al managed to save Will’s life but when he went to fight the three attackers with his life, he was beaten repeatedly. In total, Al died. Will and Al managed to escape the mall and will become a household name in Philadelphia(Starpulse).
At the age of nine, Smith had his own family farm and two kids who were going to church. Smith managed to get his sister to help him raise them up. Eventually the family farm changed hands and Will was able to turn himself in. Will was taken away from his brothers and sisters for the duration of his case. Smith is thought to have been held at the same time as all the others arrested by the FBI – that is, because he wanted to leave family behind.
Will Smith returned to their hometown sometime during the summer, but had to go back to the town of Poughkeepsie in Montana, where they had already grown up.

The movie industry was now starting to catch Will Smith’s eye. In 1994 Smith along with actor Martin Lawrence signed with Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer agreeing to co-star in an action packed comedy called Bad Boys. Also in 1997 Smith had another success in the movie industry when partnering with Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black.
In 1992 Will Smith married Sheree Zampino who he later had a son, Willard Christopher III also know as trey in 1995 Sheree and Will divorced(biography). Trey and his father Will are seen in Will’s hit single “Just the Two of Us” which was released in 1998.
