When technology changes, people change. Not only people, but the environment, our resources, our dependency on our resources, and many other things. The change can be for the good, or it can work against us. If someone finds themselves participating in an inactive situation and they are enjoying themselves, then they may think nothing of it. Take television or the computer for instance. When you are on the computer or watching T.V. you may be having a good time. But at the same time youre not being very active and not burning up calories you may have consumed over the day beforehand. This might result in you gaining unhealthy weight.

One study showed that for each additional hour of television a five-year-old child watches over the recommended maximum two hours a day, they increase their risk of obesity when they are 30 years old by 7 percent. Another study in the U.S. showed that girls who watched more that the recommended two hours per day were 2.6 times more likely to be overweight then girls who watched less than two hours. This means that the problem is real and it is already evident that it is affecting the health of todays youth. Parents are being encouraged to promote physical activities for their kids in attempt to cut down on child obesity. At the same time this it true for adults. They need to set examples for their kids if they really want them to change their unhealthy habits. When parents spend their free time lounging around and not being active then their children are more likely to do the same.

Its not so much technology that makes people overweight or not exercise. Its the people abusing technology, spending all their free time enjoying activities that do nothing for their physical health. If people spend time finding out more physical activities they enjoy, rock climbing for example, they would have fun while being active. They would be burning calories and not even thinking about it. They would be enjoying themselves while they are exercising; I think that is whats really important. If you dont like exercising then I dont think your doing it right. When people think of exercising, they usually just stereotype it. Some exercises are running, walking, swimming, weight training, but there are so many more. If you do not like doing any of the ones listed then dont worry too much. I think you should approach exercises as a menu. If you dont like one thing, try something else.
