Although all my friends thought cigarettes were stylish and cool, I discovered that smoking is actually a disgusting habit and people should not smoke. Smoking reduces the ability to do physical activity. Smoking causes bad breath. Also smoking can cause many health risks that can lead to death. People smoke for a variety of reasons, but the consequences are always harmful and sometimes in more ways than one.
Smoking reduces the ability to do physical activity. As I watch some smokers run they have shortness of breath more often than nonsmokers because their muscles and heart demand more oxygen then their lungs is able to supply. Smokers have decrease in stamina and performance because muscles get inadequate oxygen so they become fatigue more quickly. Your endurance can be reduced up to ten percent because it slows your progress and create frustration over the course of an exercise regime. Dont exhale too much because you dont want the aroma of your bad breath to float through the air.
The aroma of bad breath from smoking caught my attention. As you smoke cigarettes it leaves smoking particle in the lungs and throat which lingers in your lungs for hours. Chemical reviews found that tobacco smoke contains more than sixty aromatic hydrocarbon, most of them are carcinogenic. Smoking raises the temperature in the mouth causing damage to oral tissues and destroys them which mean bacteria moves freely throughout your mouth causing serious breath problems. I had not imagined smoking can cause so many problems within your life.
Nonsmokers want to live a healthy life that why they dont smoke because it causes many different health risk that can lead to death. Smoking raises blood pressure that can cause hypertension which is a risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. Ninety percent of lung cancer cases are due to smoking because the substances tar and carcinogen in the tobacco. Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of death due to smoking because smoking cigarettes accelerates the hardening and narrowing process in your arteries where blood clots are most likely to form causing death. This wan an eye opener for me because I never knew it can lead to death
Stopping smoking is the single best thing someone can do to improve their health, but is a difficult task to accomplish. As long as you have your mindset to stop, this task can be complete. Your sense and taste will improve. Your heart will be less strained and work more efficiently. One may say smoking makes you look cool, but to me youre just another person looking forward to be added on to the four hundred thousand people that die in America each year because of smoking.
