“To Be Great Is To Be Misunderstood”
The quote that I chose for this essay is ” To be great is to be misunderstood.” I agree with this quote, and I believe that it applies to many peoples lives. This quote, as I interpreted it, means that if you want to be a great at what you do you might be misunderstood sometimes.
This quote applies to many famous people. For example Albert einstein was misunderstood in his life. He dropped out of high school which may not be considered such a great idea if you want to be an inventor. Although, he ended up inventing the atomic bomb which caused the destruction of Japan in world war II, and was considered one of the greatest inventions of all time. ” To be great is to be misunderstood” is a quote that might apply to all people that want to become great not only the famous people of the past.
No matter what you want to do with your life you will probably be misunderstood by someone if you want to be great at it. For example if I wanted to become a great sports player I would have to practice a lot. Some people might think I am crazy to practice many hours of my life for something I probably would not achieve, but even though they might misunderstand me I would have to practice all of those hours if I wanted to become a great sports player. The quote ” To be great is to be misunderstood” is a quote that should be used for all jobs that require a lot of time spent without getting paid for it.
Those are the reasons why I agree with this quote, and also how i interpreted it. The quote applies to many famous people and athletes that gave up their own time to try and become great at something they enjoy.
