A PERFECT FRIEND
As time advances, it seems impossible to have a perfect friendship. Immorality issues, cut throat competition and other strife have forced a wedge between humans. Woman to Woman, Man to Man and Man to Woman; it doesnt matter. So many friendships dont last, are incomplete or are taken for granted. It seems a pure, unconditional genuine friendship is virtually impossible. Greed surpasses and a me-first attitude prevails which results in hurt, deceit and malfunction. The perfect friend shines in a crowd, the perfect friend looks out for my interests instead of only their own; a perfect friend is honest, loyal, spontaneous, and an excellent communicator. If you search diligently you could find the perfect friend.
A perfect friend would listen to me instead of speaking all of the time. A perfect friend would love me as much as they love themselves. A perfect friend will reciprocate what I do for them or at least try to.
A perfect friend will be honest and straightforward. Honesty is most important to me. I really hate liars. The truth may hurt, but a lie can kill a friendship. Honesty shows that you respect and value your friendship and leads the way to trust and goodwill. Dishonesty is a major reason why people dislike lying politicians and used car salesmen. Big lies are guaranteed to eventually catch up to you and undermine all relationships. No one likes to be lied to. Honesty pays.
Communication is the key to a perfect friendship. It is paramount in any relationship. There is nothing worse to me than when a friend or acquaintance send an unclear signal and then they get irritated if I didnt get it. A perfect friend is able to express their opinions and beliefs and invite me to do that as well. I am bound to get hurt, even if it is non intentional. A perfect friend will be contrite and learn from that experience trying very hard to not repeat the offense.
I like to be around the perfect friend who gives me courtesy even when they disagree with me. That friend would ascertain all angles of a story before they state an opinion. They dont always have to agree with me but they would explain their reasoning. I may have seen it all wrong from the beginning.
My perfect friend would have a backbone. My perfect friend would be a leader and a follower, when each side was appropriate. Sometimes, when I am hanging out with my friends on the weekend, no one can ever decide where they want to go. I always have to make the decision and I absolutely hate having to do that all the time. Then I feel responsible for whether or not they all had a good time.
My perfect friend and I would have a similar mind set. We would look at each other and just start laughing because we know that we are thinking the same thing. Just to prove this, we would be able to finish each others sentences. Last weekend, my friend Paul and I were at a music store. I was three rows away from him. As soon as the Red Hot Chili Peppers came on, we both searched around the store looking for each other and then we both started laughing. That same night, we were watching a movie at my house. Something happened in the movie, and of all the people around, me and Paul said the exact same six word phrase. That was awesome to know that my friend and I were so close in the mind set.
My perfect friend could be any sex, race or physical caricature. Deformed, have no hair, in a wheelchair, I dont
