Roaring Twenties
The 1920s caused many things to change. The 1920s was often looked at as the period of the American prosperity and confidence. This was time period was also known as “Roaring Twenties”. Lots of things occurred in this decade. Affected by the First World War, many experts point out that Americans moved back into their way of life, many say because of the cause of the rise of the Ku Klux Klan. “The Ku Klux Klan was an extreme white supremacist secret society in the U.S” (1). Another way that many Americans were affected was because of the anti-radical hysteria of the pilgrim raids, the harsh immigration laws, and the prohibition. The Roaring Twenties was a decade of succeed and improvement in the media and technology, which all led up to the rise of new things in this country.

Media was one of the most things that became popular in the 1920s and that changed many American lives. “In January 1932 the United States had 15,000 silent movies theaters with an average capacity of 507 people and a weekly after dance of 50 million” (3). Watching movies was one of the many best things in this decade. “Movies were a huge improvement to the world today” (5). Many people started to copy many styles that the movies used. For example, the women started using clothes as the actors. They were staring to show more skin and were acting like free women; they didnt care what people said about them.

Most of the women of the 1920s were becoming more independent. Many of them were doing what they wanted to. Many women were going out without being accompanied by a man, which it was mostly supposed to be, and started to drink more often and as much or more than the men. “Even the married women were rebelling; they were going out without their husbands” (2) And were wearing clothes that werent appropriate for married women.
