What are the morals and values in plagiarism, while growing up were all instilled with values from our parents honor, loyalty, personal courage, some students dont have these values which makes students cheat when writing papers. Should every one have the same values? Depends on who is asking.
One of the values that are the most important is honesty, honesty is a clear conscience “before me and before my fellow human beings.” Honesty is the awareness of what is right and appropriate in ones role, ones behavior, and one relationship. With honesty, there is no hypocrisy or artificiality which creates confusion and mistrust in the minds and lives of others. Honesty makes for a life of integrity because the inner and outer selves are a mirror image. (www.livingvalues.net, 2007, ¶ 1).
If not for honesty why would not oneself plagiarize. I find my self when writing papers to just type away without giving credit, but by the time I turn the paper in I have to be honest with myself and give credit were credit is due, that way I do not feel guilty at the end.
Second of all morals according dictionary.com is “Conforming to standards of what is right or just in behavior; virtuous: a moral life”. (03-08-2007). When growing up, your parents always tell you to do what is right, although sometimes we dont do the right thing. So we are not instilled with morals we make our own as we grow into adulthood. Making our choices weather or not to plagiarize is part of our moral standings, is it the right thing to do. Morally we should give credit where it is do. If one does not have morals then they could not have honesty. That means they could not function as a complete person.
Why our oneself loyalty to plagiarism? Its dishonest to cite a source without actually having read it – or at least read the relevant parts of it. It might not really say what everyone says it does. Shouldnt you judge
