Physical Education in Schools
Almost 20% of children are obese; this is possibly caused by the fact that in most schools physical education is no longer required. Because of children not having their physical exercise required of them they dont do it and end up gaining weight, and become obese. It has become a big issue. The reasons to make physical education required in schools are obvious; children will get in a healthy routine for a good and healthy life, it will decrease obesity rate therefore lowering risks for certain illnesses, and kids wont be teased for being overweight.
If physical education becomes required in all schools children will get in a healthy routine for a good and healthy life. Studies show that habits picked up at a young age are more likely to affect life later on. If these kids make exercise a regular part of life in their elementary school years it is more likely for them to have it in their life as they grow into teenagers, and adults. Physical education could make a positive impact in childrens health in the future.

It has been scientifically proven that obesity heightens risks of heart problems, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and etc. If these children exercise, and stay healthy they will not be at as high a risk of these things. If they get physical education they will potentially look and feel better throughout their lives.
This comes to my last point, the issue of bullying of overweight children. It is unfortunate, but the facts are that children do get physically and/or verbally abused because of what they look like. Being overweight is something that children frequently get teased for, and by lessening the obesity, youre lessening the bullying, which is always a good accomplishment. Bullying is an ongoing problem and required physical education would definitely help to
