Physical fitness is not just about exercise but also about health and diets too. Physical fitness is the ability of the human body to function with alertness, without fatigue, and with energy to engage in activities, and to meet physical needs. The fitness is usually measured by periodic tests measuring strength, endurance, agility, coordination, and flexibility. Stress testing, which shows the bodys accommodation to powerful, physical stimulants is used to analyze fitness, along with the signs of muscular strength and endurance.
Physical fitness is often divided into the following types (in alphabetical order)
Agility
Balance
Body Composition
Cardiovascular endurance
Coordination
Flexibility
Muscular strength and endurance
Speed
Proper nutrition is important to physical fitness because energy depends on nutrition. There are six main classes of nutrients that the body needs and they are, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water. These are important on a daily bases to be consumed to build and maintain a healthy bodily function. They help with your endurance, and strength. If diet is inadequate, the fitness level will drop. Overweight, underweight, and weak individuals will have below average fitness levels. The level of physical fitness can be influenced by regular, systematic exercise.
Physical exercise is the performance of some activity in order to develop or maintain physical fitness and overall health. It is often directed toward also honing athletic ability or skill. Frequent and regular physical exercise is an important component in the prevention of some of the diseases of affluence such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Exercises are generally grouped into three types depending on the overall effect they have on the human body:
