Wesley Bowen – 2102 | QuestionnairesSynopsisThe questionnaires are aimed at the customers of LongBoard Jersey as well as the members of staff (sales assistants) and will be handed out to both parties. Each answer will be interpreted and considered however the overall answers gained from all completed questionnaires will be viewed as a whole and will be averaged to draw conclusions from. This form of research is extremely effective as it will allow me to target both of my target populations, using little time, resources and money. Furthermore, as the questionnaires will be anonymous, answers provided will be honest and true, which increases the validity of this research. Additionally, a key weakness of the interview and observation fact finding methods is that they aim to obtain the individual opinions and beliefs of members of the workforce, so therefore, have a high risk of becoming subjective and harder to generalise. As a result, through the use of questionnaires, I intend interpret the viewpoints and opinions of the majority which will be greatly significant in gaining a better insight into the current system at LongBoard Jersey and its problems.Advantages of a QuestionnaireA questionnaire covers the opinions of a wider audience, which will increase the overall generalizability of my findings and therefore strengthen the potential applications they have within my business.Unlike interviews and observations, interviews are quick and simple to produce, easy to analyse and very cost effective because they can be mass produced for, for example, they can be distributed to members of staff as well as customers of the business at the same time.The anonymity of a questionnaire may elicit more honest answers which may provide me with access to information surrounding problems with the current system that is less likely to be disclosed in an interview.Disadvantages of a QuestionnaireThe person completing questionnaire cannot be asked to expand upon their answers or asked follow up questions to the extent which they could in an interview, which may limit the quality and amount of information I receive about the current system in regards to depth and complexity.Whilst allowing for anonymous participation can encourage honesty, it can also lead to dishonesty, as I will be unable to read nonverbal communications and body language, which will therefore stunt my ability to decipher truth from lies, which could therefore affect the validity of the data collected from the questionnaire.Staff QuestionnaireDo you find the current system easy to understand and use?[pic 1][pic 2][pic 3][pic 4]If ‘No’ was selected on the previous question, what in your opinion is the main issue with the current system when attempting to interpret data?
