As a society, we need to better educate ourselves about current events that are happening around the world. By using what we have read or learnt, we can use the information to form our own opinions. Furthermore, if we are researching on a specific topic, overthinking can possibly lead to dissecting the situation way beyond what the initial goal is. Furthermore, the availability of multiple sources also does not mean that the information is going to be correct. In order to make better decisions, we need to educate ourselves more, so that we can understand what we are ingesting, allowing us to form our own opinions instead of solely copying and using experts opinions as our own opinions.
Educating our minds on how to analyze a situation and determining which piece of data to use is a very important tool for every individual. In Louis Menands article, “Everybodys an Expert”, predictions were made by counsellors on how high school students would perform in their freshman years in college. They were given a wide variety of data to make predictions. With all the data they were provided, using just grades and test scores gave the most accurate result, rather than using the additional information that was provided to the counsellors. Furthermore, to make an accurate decision, we do not necessarily need to use all pieces of data that is provided to make an accurate prediction or statement. Instead, we need to pick and choose which data is relevant and which data is irrelevant. To make the best choices in life, we need to be able to examine multiple pieces of data and be able to pick out the relevant pieces that will allow us to make the best and most accurate decision. These skills are usually developed through basic education that we acquire when we are attending school. Courses are available in post-secondary such as statistics which focus on probability and other aspects on decision making.
Attaining education in a certain field such as sciences does not mean you skills are only limited to that field. There are many other hidden skills that you dont think of when we associate a person with a degree in a certain field. For example, team works skills, problem solving skills and decision making skills. Ever since I can remember, we have always been faced with lessons on values. There were many ways we were taught values, such as: school rules, classroom guidelines, assemblies and guest speakers. Being exposed to values allows us to make smarter, more positive decisions. Values are what shape our beliefs. In school we have been taught to follow rules. Create Value Theory
In this guide we have created our new value theory. This is how we make value and how we define it. You can go back to our previous guide on values, we want to write a philosophy about what value is.
Let’s go back in time to how the Romans were born: In the 2nd century B.C., Roman Emperor Cassius Pilate taught his Roman students to understand how to live a virtuous life and to be kind to the gods. He also taught that man’s true God was the Creator, which according to Roman law is a bad thing. Cassius would say something like “Man is a sinner. If he does this things to himself, but not to his descendants, the future he has created will be evil.”
A person would think that by talking about God it’s just like seeing an image from behind a curtain, that a bad view of life is a bad thing. However with this understanding, it is possible even though some people believe that man must be evil, as far as possible. We can see that this way our students’ values will change.
Let’s create a new value theory
In our philosophy we are going towards one element, the law of value. In the Greek philosopher Plato we will go to the beginning of a philosophy, to create a law of value, the law of value in an empirical way. Now let’s go to the beginning of our values. Let’s say in our philosophy, we are telling you to respect life. If he does not love you, he won’t love his children. If he does love you, he won’t love his women, and perhaps also with this respect he will hate you. Well, it is called the law of value. We are saying that not having these values makes you useless and you cannot live without these values. Therefore, we are going to create a new law of value: “When a man does love you, he shall love that woman; but when a woman does not love you, he shall hate that woman.” The law of value was formulated in the Greek philosopher Plato to allow for love and for love and not to allow against love.
You are doing things that you believe you will love, but in reality love does not work against you. Your love does not follow through, it follows from where it originated. In order to avoid love for your children, you cannot love them. Instead, you must choose to love each and every one that you love. Thus the laws of morality do not apply to you. The law of love is necessary and it’s in your moral duties to ensure that your love is upheld. If you do not know how to love or how to love, you will find that no matter how good your feelings are, in order to maintain your passion you must first do an act that encourages it. Love conquers all good, it wins by your love.
