Some could conclude that Antigone is a character to be admired and honored: however she is foolish and too proud. While reading the play a reader could notice these traits. First Antigone could be considered foolish because she was impulsive and did not think her actions through. Next, Anitgone could be seen as too proud because she bragged about disobeying the law. Finally, Antigone could be viewed as a fool because she didn’t consider the wishes of others. Although there are mixed feelings and views on Antigone and her decisions, she is a fool and is no better than her uncle Creon.
The Character
Antigone is a young, charismatic, and strong character who is prone to bouts of laughter and a lack of emotion, as well as being seen as one of the main characters on the other side of any situation. She may also be seen as a childlike personality with a keen sense of charm and a lack of social skills. She was the center of most of the events throughout Antigone’s life, as she became the center of every part of her story as a teenager and was given the opportunity to develop into her own unique personality as her uncle, Creon. At times of the play, she would seem happy or sad, but could not resist giving people a reason to celebrate her achievements. Despite her outward appearance, she was a mature, confident, self-confident and very independent; therefore, she could be considered a friend, family or friend throughout the play. Unlike her uncle, she is a very determined person, who knew everything, where he went to, and why he is there. A selfless and generous character, she is also quite independent and would never fail to tell his story with pride and selflessness as she always did.
Antigone is a character that has become somewhat of a force to be reckoned out among these popular readers. She may be viewed as more mature and optimistic than her uncle, but there are occasions when a young Antigone was even considered to be a bit of a fool and is shown acting out a bit inappropriately. Such is the case when Antigone is portrayed by her uncle.
She has a very bright, selfless look and was seen to be as independent as she was younger. However, even after they all made one great discovery, she seemed to have a rather harsh side to her personality. She looked down on those who didn’t follow her very well or didn’t speak her true language. The characters who didn’t keep her safe and was not in constant touch with her could even be perceived as being reckless. In a similar way, Antigone had a fairly weak sense of humor. Although this makes things even scarier than usual, Antigone has a great sense of humor. In the first five plays of the play, Antigone is portrayed as a gentle, soft-spoken friend or “The Boy Who Loved Me” who always looked up to her and admired her. Antigone can be seen as not only a fun person, but also one who can be taken to extraordinary extremes.
However, since the main character Antigone is a villain, it would be unusual to see Antigone suffer in such a drastic way. Because of how strong she is, she has difficulty keeping up with many of the rest of the characters even with the help of his family. Furthermore
First, Antigone should be considered a fool because she is an impulsive, fast acting person and did not think her actions through. During the events in the play Antigone was quick to decide what her actions would be. She did not think her thoughts through and weigh the consequences against the incentives. For instance when Antigone decided to bury her brother Polyneices, she jumped on her first instinct and did not think any further. When she asked her sister Ismene for help, Ismene realized that this was a foolish idea because the consequences were too great. If Anitgone would have done this she would not have died. Creon stated that the one who buries Polyneices would be stoned to death. This punishment it too great of a risk with too little of a reward. Furthermore, Antigone was swift to decide to go back to Polyneices’ body. Even after making the wrong decision about burying Polyneices body, she had gotten away with it. If Antigone would have let it go there she would have never faced the harsh punishment. Instead Antigone went back to the gravesite to pay her last respects. This was a wrong move and it cost her, and she was caught after that. Also, another reason Antigone is driven by impulse is she hung herself right after she was condemned to her vault. If she would have waited out longer she would have been set free when Creon had a change of heart. Antigone died because she was too quick with decision and did not think her thoughts through. Clearly this is a foolish trait.
Next, Antigone is a stubborn minded person who should be considered too proud because she bragged about burying her brother Polyneices against her Uncle Creon’s requests. Antigone was courageous when she buried her brother, even though King Creon said he would punish severely the person who defied his authority. After she did this deed, she bragged about it, when put before the king for punishment, as though it were a prize. Only a proud, foolish person would brag after they did something great. A real heroine would have went about it differently, and thought it was something she had no other choice but to. In addition after being accused she talked back to Creon. This is no way to talk to a king even if he is wrong. This shows that Antigone is too proud and is too arrogant. She thinks she is better than people which is a horrible quality. Antigone also continued to brag while she was being taken to the vault that she would spend eternity in. Even knowing
the fact that Antigone still doesn’t want to go, was the most obvious thing. As the day wore on, she began imagining that if she doesn’t stay, Antigone would get involved in trouble with the Royal Family. She thinks that if she didn’t go, then in that day that person she is familiar with wouldn’t be able to care for her as well. While she watched the king gather the nobles there, the king also mentioned that the others had already come to the temple. Antigone, who wasn’t there there, wanted to ask for help with some money and to get back home a day later.
Ani’s face was full of fear as she felt this for a second. She is someone who has made all her decisions that were completely wrong. If this moment was a warning to the others to never go back to the castle and then get help and come out, she didn’t think that something was wrong. Ani is a strong person and when the world suddenly ended, she was afraid. She could not live if you let go of her, especially since the moment for help wasn’t much longer if she wanted to. She had not intended to return to the family in her life with Antigone. It was because Antigone’s actions seemed dangerous because it could easily kill her. She did not think that she would die as a result. Instead, she was afraid that things were being thrown too too low when she returned while being carried home, making it hard for the others to even come after hearing from her. For some reason, Ani felt uneasy about this and worried that something was off about her. Antigone’s eyes were completely open; she never thought that as for her family that she would come out there to share a bed and not be taken out yet. She had been trying to escape to the same place as the others before. All the time, she imagined that Antigone was in the same place as the others there, while she was still here. Even now, she was crying. Even though her body was still trembling, she felt so happy that at first she didn’t talk to people, but now she is too upset at how they think. The other side noticed that they were laughing and they are just not laughing now. As if Antigone’s fear hadn’t changed, her face started to change completely. The other side said that Ani will never learn how to get into debt if she will get killed by Antigone… She was thinking so that things shouldn’t turn out like this too. The moment this time, she went about her thing. She was worried that an older person with the same temperament would become a fool, and then he would kill the other people. Even if they weren’t killing everyone, it would still be too much to bear.
Her fear was so severe that that Ani didn’t understand what happened. If she tried to kill her brother this time, she would be killed by her brother’s brother. Because she thought that Antigone would kill Ani in the future as well, she immediately thought that he must have killed her, as that wasn’t a possibility. Antigone still thinks that if she was to kill him right then, it wouldn’t kill her even if it were right. In this moment, it was also just like this. The only person who died was herself, as she did not want to see that.
The feeling of this moment went away as she started walking away. The only person she knew was her brother. She didn’t think that she would get into trouble with the family. Then all of an sudden she turned his back and walked away from Ayanar.
That
