Pass the Joint
In Shooting and Elephant by George Orwell, a police officer of Burma found himself to do his job by having to shoot an elephant. The officer was informed that there was an elephant had been out of control. The elephant had already ruined a bamboo hut, raided a fruit stand, and had damage other things. The elephant had not just destroyed property but had killed, had killed a cow and also killed a man. The officer called for his riffle as he knew the .44 was way too small to kill this big out of control elephant. The officer was now being followed by this big crowd of people more than 2000 people were behind him to watch the killing of this elephant. As the officer sat from far watching the elephant eat grass just a controlled elephant would do then realize this elephant was harmless and that killing it was probably not necessary. It was clear he did not want to kill the elephant, but he also had a job and that was to protect the people. He also knew if he did not kill the elephant the people of Brumes would think he was scared maybe even a coward fort not doing his job. He then shot the elephant he shot him in a spot right in between the head where he thought the elephant would die instantly. He did not only have to shoot the elephant one more time but a few more times before the elephant fell to the ground and slowly died. The elephant took about thirty minutes before he finally died. I believe we have all done something that we didnt want to do but felt pressured in doing so. The feeling of being a coward or scary is something no one ever want to feel.

As we start our way we go the water and take our shoes of and put our feet in and just run around having a great time. We then put our shoes back and start making our way all the way down to Pier 39. Not noticing or even caring of the time we still just keep on with our good time at the Pier. We then made our way to see the seals. Oh I thought do they stink. We all sat down and just started talking when all of a sudden Matt took a blunt. Matt asks, “Hey you guys want to smoke?”
Melissa replies hell yeah light it up.
Karen says yeah sure I want a hit.
Then it became quiet as they waited for me to respond and Matt say, so Judy you gonna smoke?
