What Makes People Unhappy in Life? What makes people unhappy in life?Social media addiction and poor living conditions are two reason which make people unhappy in life. The first reason that makes people unhappy in life is social media addiction. To begin with, people are affected by overusing social media in a negative way. According to University of Michigan psychologist Ethan Kross, there is a correlation between spending too much time on the social media sites and feelings of dissatisfaction, loneliness, unhappiness and isolation. Since people are isolated on the social media, they can’t communicate with people easily in the real life and they can’t be social. Therefore, they feel lonely, sad and isolated. Secondly, as people compare themselves with other people all the time on the internet, they become jealous. Thus, this condition makes them depressed and anxious. To sum up, social media addiction is the first reason which makes people unhappy in life.
Another reason that makes people unhappy in life is poor living conditions. Firstly, people who grow up in poor living conditions may suffer from various health problems in the future. Also it leads to some negative feelings such as insufficiency and powerless. Thus, it influences their psychology and their physical health negatively. Secondly, people who live in a poor condition have high stress levels because of many factors such as insecurity, lack of opportunity and poverty. Therefore, these factors affect their physical and mental health negatively and these make them unhappy in life. As a result, living in poor conditions is a reason which makes people unhappy in life.In conclusion, social media addiction and poor living conditions make people unhappy in life. I think people should avoid from spending too much time on the internet for their mental health and people should assist poor people through charities.
The World Health Organisation, released a major report on the prevalence of a range of health conditions among 2.8 million people, which includes mental health, substance abuse and obesity.
