As we all know, blogging is an effective form of communication for many CCA clubs. However, it has come to our attention that concerns have been raised regarding the quality of blog posts. Many people are worried about the way polytechnic students will be portrayed. Hence, we have compiled a short list of writing tips to guide you in leaving a good impression on the readers.

First of all, you have to ensure that your message is easy to understand.
Sometimes, readers may completely misinterpret what you are saying which leads to blatant misunderstanding. Therefore, you have to avoid jargon as majority of the people might not understand what it means. Although casual lingo are fine in everyday speech, they might decrease the readers level of confidence in your credibility. As a result, they are inappropriate for a blog that is easily accessed by the public.

Next, it is important to be courteous and considerate when you are writing.
A positive tone creates goodwill and it is easier to get your points across when positive words are being used. It also helps to create a readable and convincing blog post. While it is necessary to be authentic, honest and sincere in the tone of our writing, exaggerated words often lack sincerity. Overdoing the goodwill techniques also has an insincerity effect. Other than that, emotions affect our writing. For example, if you are in a bad mood, those sulky feelings will just seep into your writing. In addition, you should write objectively to receive trust and respect from your readers. Stay away from hasty generalizations which normally leads to mistaken assumption.
